THE TEEN BRAIN

Hiii Everyone!!

I’m so sorry that I have not been posting in a while but I have had so many things to do like state tests, dance, MY MAGAZINNEEEE!!! During this time period I have had the chance to learn about some very interesting topics! Today we are going to talk about the TEENAGE BRAIN!!!

I know what your thinking “ The teenage Brain?’’ “ That is not gnarly”, but it actually is a very complex thing! Many adolescents ( teens and kids) don’t know why they act the way they act, but the truth is is that we must educate ourselves. The teenage brain is not fully developed until 21. Because our brains are still maturing and developing, this causes us to not have full control over our actions and what we say. For example, lets say your mom takes away your iPad, because you are so angry you cannot control how you respond to your mom, so it really depends on how your brain wants to react. The first way your brain could react is by screaming or yelling, the second way your brain could react is by simply saying “ Ok” , The 3rd way is you could start breaking things and cursing. Therefore it all really depends because you don’t have control , your teenage brain does. Learning about the teenage brain made me understand why I act the way I act and it helped me control my emotion better. Since you don’t have control over what you say or do and your brain has more control, the brain can make you forget about the consequences of your actions. So for example, you just yelled at your mom without thinking about the consequences, you quickly comprehend what you just said, resulting in you getting a punishment. One more thing that I learned was that whenever you're stressed or nervous, or even bored, your teenage brain enters a state of “ survival mode” which makes it hard for any new information to go into your brain. So being bored, stressed, or nervous in class it is very bad for your brain. It can be hard to control how you feel, but to prevent your brain from entering “survival mode” you can meditate and drink water, but most of all put a smile on that beautiful face. Though you may be like “ Matilda! How am I supposed to stay calm in school when life is falling apart?” I too am practicing to not be so stressed and just work my hardest while trying to enjoy life!!! It’s not easy but it's worth trying!!! Overall, the teenage brain is something that is so complex and twisted but once you know some of the logistics, you can start controlling and working with your brain! I hope this has helped you like it has helped me and I LOVE YOU GUYS !!! PEACE OUT GANG GANG
