hacks hacks hacks
Hey theylypops!!!!
I am so sorry that I have not posted in a long time but I was just so packed with end of summer activities and the start of school!!!! I hope you all have had a great start of September!!!!!!! Today I would like to talk about skincare trends that are just a recipe for disaster. This includes skincare TikTok, Instagram, or any social media platform skincare trends. There are always a lot of viral “skincare hacks” or trends that I see on the internet and it’s important to remember that sometimes people do crazy things to their skin just for attention and also that sometimes influencers are not 100% honest.
Here are some of the hacks and trends that I saw online that I researched into further. Always do your research!!!!!
#1 Face Razoring
Listen up! This does not help soak in skincare or make your face look less hairy, this actually strips layers of your skin and can lead to redness, rashes, and very bad reactions if you have sensitive skin!!!!
Results:
Redness
Razor burn
Cuts
Itchy skin
Dark hair
#2 Salt On Pimples
This can lead to the pimple staying longer and irritates it!!! And salt can be very harmful on skin.
Results:
Burns
Damaged skin barrier
Acne
Pimple getting worse
Itchy skin
#3 Dandruff Shampoo As Facial Cleanser
You should try to only use products if they’re meant for your face and skin and this is also for dandruff not on skin!!!! Just don’t use it on your face and remember when influencers use it they don’t record the results next day which automatically means to not trust it
Results:
Skin irritation
Acne
Redness
Allergic reactions
Redness
Pimples
#4 Diaper Rash Cream As Face Mask
Just don’t, this cream is meant to help fresh baby butts not your acne or pimples or to get you clear skin!! And guys, Social Media influencers lie all the time!!!!!! They are probably getting paid to do all those recommendations! Just look at the bottom right corner and usually it says “Sponsored”. And sometimes they do crazy things just to get attention.
#5 Slugging With Vaseline
This practice especially for sensitive skin can be not great! It can create blackheads and clog pores and trust me it might make your skin worse and prevent you from having glass skin!!!
Results:
Blackheads
Pimples
Clogged pores
Please take note that all of these treatments and “hacks” can prevent you from “glass skin” (if that’s what you want) and the best way to have glass skin is eating well and taking care of yourself, wearing sunscreen, having a short skincare routine, sleeping 7-8 hours a night, and drinking water. Hope this guide helps!!
Note: this is not the last of these kind of posts and we will be doing more skincare tips blog posts and we will be posting more often!!!
